By being online ...
Well, that is a interesting question, because what is a career in computers? The computer industry has software, internet, hardware companies, for example. Plus you can do "enterprise" technology career, where you work in technology for a big company. It depends on your interest and where you live. If you live in Austin, you would target Dell, I would suspect. If you live in the middle of no where, you might consider a career for an internet company, where you can work from home. And within "computers" there are technical roles, marketing roles, management roles, PR, support, etc. etc. I work at Yahoo! and we have people that work in our coffee shops! I guess they are working in technology :)

Read some books on technical careers and get a feel for what is the best fit for your skills and interest. From there, you can plan your attack, but I think you do your best to get hired into any role in a tech company and then move from within the company. Otherwise, you might have to go back to school. Even if you start in sales, you can move into product roles, for example, if you have talent.
I would consider the various fields within the computer industry that you may be interested in. Software, hardware, networking, etc. There's a lot of money in each of the fields, but you may also consider the amount of need in each field as well as your own experience. I am personally a programmer, but I believe networking or database design may be better fields with a little better pay.
Go somewhere like ITT Tech
