you will need,

a router,

possibly lan cables

possibly wireless cards

Ah, you haven't said what kind of computer's you have though.

if one is a desktop, connect your cable modem to the router and then the desktop to the router, via lan cables.

if they are both laptops then you will need wireless cards, your laptops may have them already included [if they are fairly new]

if not you can buy cheap usb wifi cards.

the router will come with a cd that will lead you through the entire setup.

the brand doesn't make all that much difference, [sorry cisco/netgear/belkin fan-boy/fan-girls] just choose the brand you feel comfortable with at a price according to your budget, check c-net for reviews. but it's fairly simple, just try not to get too flustered, and as always, ASK, we're here to help. =D

A switch will do the trick, so if you have a modem already just plug all it in so that the 2 computers come off the switch and theres a cable between the switch and modem.
get a router
What you need is a router. A switch will not allow you to share a Internet connection at home - it does not assign a IP address which is needed to be on the Internet. A hub is basically a switch with no IP assigning abilities either.
a router
Wireless internet card.
I suggest you consider buying a broadband router as it is simply plug and play.
