i Have a belkin wirless router and a wireless adapter to pick it up but can i still have two computers on the network with the WEP key

You use the same key for anything connecting to that router. WEP is the least secure encryption available. Check manual if you can use WPA or WPA2 if so then go to Microsoft Knowledge base an download the following for XP sp2 "KB917021 For WPA client for XP sp2". You must manually download this fix because windows update will not download it.
