For a business with 5 computers how large a server would we need?

We only have 5 computers in our business how large or fast a server would we need to get large emails and make the network faster?

If you don't have a dedicated IT support team, I do NOT recommend getting your own mail server (from your question, that's the server's primary purpose). Mail server maintenance is quite extensive and painstaking, considering spam and virus attacks. So... unless you have a budget set aside to consistently call these folks back out to update the server, I really would not recommend you guys dropping money into a black hole that may never bottom.

Just look around for a webhost that offers unlimited e-mail size. During your search, you might just check with them on FTP capabilities of their webserver. For frequent transfer of large files, you really should consider FTP instead of plain e-mail.

All of the above should run you an ABSOLUTE MAX $29.95US/month. Believe me, paying small amounts/month beats shelling out thousands of dollars with no guarantees. (Plus, you can bug webhost's support team if you experience any trouble. They'll have to help you FOR FREE!)

Also, your own mail server will NOT make your network faster. I am sure your network is fast enough, it's the individual PC's that are bogged down. Hire somebody to clean up the computers or upgrade simple components, like RAM, would be money better spent.
