Cannot connect to other computers on mt network?

I have three comps on my network. One is connected to my printer (running on Vista), and two laptops running on XP pro.

All three can connect to the Internet through the router with no problem, however one of the laptops cannot connect to the printer though thedesktop comp. I have tried every possible configuration: turn on/off firewalls, ran network wizard a million times, changed workgroup name, changed computers names, restarted the comps 4 billion times, etc. etc.

I am very close to throwing my laptop out the window.

Any out-of-the-box idea?

Thanks.

If you can see the share files on the computer that has the printer then you should be able to connect to the printer aswell. You need to check if the printer is still there, if not then you have to trace the path again by adding printer and through the network, then just open the path from the host computer.

make sure all 3 computer are set to use dhcp OR are using different ip addresses in the same range. Enable file and print sharing on the computer that cannot connect. try pinging the printer host computer from the offending laptop to make sure it sees it. make sure all comps have the same default gateway set
Hi I was having the same problem with my laptop. The firewall on my home PC was on so I shut it off and it still wouldn't print.

I unplugged the printer and plugged it back in and hit the paper feed button and my laptop is now printing to my home PC. I hope this was helpful because I know how you feel. If it doesn't work I hope someone out there can help you.
