Cannot access "View Workbook Computers" in My Network Places, why is this?

I want to view the computers on my network but it will not allow me to - it just seems to lock up. Error msg says "workgroup is not accessible. You might not have permission to view this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The list of servers for this workgroup is currently unavailable".

I am the administrator for the network so why is it I can't access this? Many thanks

What kind of environment are you in? If it's an active directory controlled environment, you must be a domain administrator. If it's just local computers, you must also have administrative rights on each PC on the local network.
