you can if one of them has 2 network cards.

it would be much simpler to buy a router and install it between your dsl modem and the computers, then they can share the connection %26 connect to each other as well.
Well - thats kind of a simple question. Obviously you're not going to use a phone cord, to the best of my knowledge all that you're going to need is the kind of cable like you run from a TV to the wall to get cable. Your best bet though is to link them wirelessly, with WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) It's simple to use once you have it set up.
well i've done this before taking a wireless laptop and using it to share the internet with a laptop that didn't have a wireless network card. Let's say you're running a non-wireless computer to another non-wireless computer. You're going to go to the Network Connections under Control Panel of the computer that has the internet connection. Right click on this item and goto properties. From there click on the Sharing Tab, then click on the option that says "Allow other computers to connect through this Internet Connection." Make sure the ethernet cable is connected from the Internet computer to the non-internet computer. The main downside is that this requires two network cards on the computer with internet. For the price of that you might as well buy a router! But if you're determined this can work.
If your DSL modem uses the Ethernet port (the large phone-jack looking port on the back of your PC), then it would probably be easier if you went out and bought a DSL Router... From there you simply plug the DSL modem into the WAN port, and then use Category 5 Ethernet Cable (CAT5 or CAT5e) to connect each computer to a port on the router. After that, both computers will have the ability to connect to the Internet and share files and data. You will need to do some minor configuration on each computer in order for this to work however, and this depends on what operating system you have.
You sure can.

What you will need is called a router. A router is a special device that you plug your DSL modem into that will distribute the connection to other computers (usually has four ports). The cable you will use what's called Ethernet Category 5-E. You can pick this up from RadioShack or from any electronics retailer.
Both computers need to have Ethernet ports (The plug looks like an oversized telephone cable). Then, all you need is either a DSL modem with multiple out ports on the back or a separate router to connect it to. You can research "Home networking" for more information.
Just buy a router with 4ports and a network cable. Hookup the router between your dsl router and the computers.
