Perceptions of teachers using computers in classroom?

How teachers feel about using computers in the classroom. Is it worth it? Do teachers know hoe to use them? How to intergrate them?

I LOVE using computers in my classroom - it enhancing my lessons. Some teachers know how to use them and some don't - kids who use them have an edge - we are in an age where computer literacy is almost as important as reading literacy.

Our school has lap-tops in every classroom for every student. Of course these computers can not be taken out of the rooms but students have pre-set-up accounts on our network for saving projects and work. Teachers all are equipped with desktops and lap-tops. Lap-tops, so we can take home and prepare lesson visuals for the next day. Every classroom has a Smart-Boards. (This is a interactive board used with the computer.)
If the students are under 9 years old I see the teachers teaching them, if the students are over 10 years old I see the students teaching the teachers!
Do you mean teachers using the computers or the students using the computers? With well designed lesson plans, they can be invaluable teaching aides. But if the students are just bumming around on the computers, it's a waste of time. Do teachers know how to use them? Teachers are just people. Some do, some don't.
I am a student teacher and LOVE using computers in the classroom. I just did today when teaching a lesson on how to research information for a State Report. (4th grade)
