Do laptops and desktop computers use the same cpu's?

Would a desktop computers processor be interchangable with a laptops processor, or are they totally differnt?

No! Do not try to attempt this. Most desktop computers have much more powerful processors than laptops. Laptops are designed to be moblie machines. It would be senseless to have a huge processor running a laptop. And besides, the fan for a desktop's processor is too large for a laptop, like the last person said.

No. Desktop CPU is more powerful and takes more power with

huge radiator and fan. Now CPU speed of laptop less than desktop because is not enough power from battery to support high speed processor.

Why you hear about dual-core or quad-core CPU.

Because so hard to take out heat from high speed CPU.

Dual-core takes less power than same efficiency one high speed CPU .
