If I have a computers with windows wista and I want to dual boot with xp if it easier with 1 or 2 ha

How would I do this? Can someone who who knows almost nothing about computers look at instructions to do dual boot or should I get a professional? And how much will it cost if I have someone else do it for me? Where will I have to go to look for someone who can help? Best Buy? Circuit City?

You can have dual boot on a single hard-drive.

You can do it 2 ways:

1. Install Win XP first, then install VIsta

2. INstall Vista first, then install WinXP.

(in both cases, you have to partition the HDD).

I've tried option 1. It is easier, as Vista will handle the dual boot configuration. If you choose option 2, there are several more steps to take.

If you google "Dual Boot" there'll be thousands of sites telling us how to go about it. However, i've found this instruction particularly easier to follow.

It's easier with 2 hard drives, but can be done with a single drive just as easy. Make sure you install xp first, then vista, because vista has a bootloader it will install for you. Then when you boot your computer you'll see a text menu giving you the option of booting either vista or an earlier version of windows.
