I want to connect a single broadband modem to two computers in the same household. Is it possible?

yes what you have to do is have it plugged into one and share the connection, then you have to link the two computers using ethernet, usb or wifi. only down point is whichever system you plug the modem into that has to be turned on if you want to use the internet on the other

buy a router you can get a 4 port linksys for 40 bucks, and for 5 bucks more you can get one that is wireless also. make sure you don't get a switch though, switches take a bit of work while a router you can just plug in
