How can i link computers in my office together with LAN?

procedure on how to link five computers in a local area network with a hub port

How can i link computers in my office together with LAN?network

One of many ways to do this:

If all five computers are windows XP home or XP Pro with network cards on them already - drivers properly loaded - all you need to do is purchase your hub/switch, connect them and you will have a networked LAN. Now, from here on, there are network services you might need to connect, such has shared files, shared printers, shared internet, etc . . .

Might be a little to lengthy to answer in this forum. Let me point you in the right direction:

Compusa, Best Buy, Newegg.com, cdw.com all sell network or server appliance devices that allow you to connect 5 computers and give all the services above right out of the box. It is worth the investment to purchase on of these network appliances - they make computing life much easier and reliable - for an estimated $300 to $900 investment depending of capacity, power and speed. My recommendations:

hope this starts you in the direction you are looking to go.

now a hub brings all the pc's into one place like bringing 5 people into a room now in order for them to be able to connect to one another you need a DHCP or IP. its like giving those 5 people names so they can call one another.
