Ok i have Windows Xp home edition... I reformated my computer.... But i want too reformat the other two computers, will the serial number work for the other two and will everything be fine??

yea, my boyfriend is a computer freak, and he bought a new laptop with vista on it, and installed it on our other two computers as well, he did the same thing with XP on the same computers before we got vista.

probably would work but the problem is not that, the problem is the activation code. Activation code you have to get it from Microsoft. And then they are going to find out that you are using one serial number for all 3 computers and they wont accept taht.
yes and no. you mosy likely will be bale to install it and the computers will work buy when you boot up after a while (after you get caught) you will get messages telling you that you copy of windows is illegal so on and so forth. you will not be allowed to update. why not use linux? work as good if not better and it's free just download on any existing computer that is on line, download the free legal file burn it to disk and the boot from cd after you re format your computers. everything you had will work and linux does not get viruses.

i had to do the same thing. you need to buy a seperate cd key for each comp. you put load the disc into.contact microsoft and they can talk you through the whole thing.i think ist about $90.00 bucks a key.
This depends on how many systems it has been authenticated on already but it can be loaded 3 times, just authenticate through the same internet connection and all should be fine
Nope, the genuine windows xp will only work with one pc. If you used that serial no once you've got to get the new one unless you've call ms to approved the serial no with lots of questions to answer.

Well, that stuff works a lot better if everyone is running XP. If they are running 98, they may have to do a little manual work. Also, if you have a security built into your router, you need to give that number to your friends so they can access your router.

It sounds like you may have to 'allow' them onto your system.

I don't know how you configured your modem and router, but if you have DSL and they use PPPoE and you don't have your modem or router doing the PPPoE handshake, then you will have to configure each computer to do the PPPoE handshake.

You will need a cable/dsl router. That will be hooked up to your modem. So it goes Line%26gt;Modem%26gt;router%26gt;PC. Once that is installed, you need to buy a wireless router (or get a realllllly long ethernet cable) and install it on the other computer. I'd suggest a wireless router, since ethernet cables are expensive. Plus I would always end up tripping myself over the cable. :P

A very simple solution. Purchase two Ethernet Cards and a cross over cable. Get the cards installed in the machines and it would be ready for work. Download a free-ware proxy server (www.analogx.com) and install it on the machine where u have DSL working. Both the machines would be able to have internet working.

I am sure "Remote Control" can do that. Remote Control allow you control your remote machine and run any application on the remote machine from local. I have tried to remote control one computer within LAN to see movie, it is quite good. But I am not sure how much it would be affected when you do that through internet.

There are lots of such so-called Remote Control applications as VNC, MS termial service (RDC, remote desktop connection)and PC-anywhere.

The most generally being used is VNC and MS termial service. But unfortunately, It only works within LAN or the machine with a public IP address.

Definitely surf using an anonymous proxy. It is the easiest way to protect your privacy and to avoid being tracked by your ISP or search engines.
