How can you connect two HOME computers to a single fax/printer?

Both computers have USB port. I want to share both computers to the printer.

hey there,

Here is a link to a device that allows you to share 1 USB device between 2 computers.

Hope that helps

if you hook at least one of the computers up directly to the fax/printer you can share out the other printer, just go to

start

printers and faxes

add printer

and go thru the setup wizard
if they are both mac computers the you only need an airport extreme base station. this has a usb port on it that you plug your printer/fax into, and the computers connect by wireless cards.

if on a PC you might need to connect a usb hub to the fax/printer, and carry the wire to both computers. if that does not work, then you need to connect the computers with a cat5 (aka Ethernet) cable and plug the printer in to just one. this should work if networked right.

if one or both are laptops you might have some more problems. I have not looked into wireless routers for PC bassed systems recntly, but last time I did look they did not suport printers.
The free printer anywhere! Install and creat free account on computer hooked up to printer. On the remote computer install and make another free account. 2 Seperate accounts!! On computer hooked up to printer; install the printer on Printer Anywhere. I think there will be a button or maybe when you install Printer Anywhere. On computer hooked up, have the default printer, your regular printer. On remote printer,y ou have to select anywhere and set as default. Then click print. Then you will have to find the computer that is hooked up to the printer in the list. What ever nickname you gave when you signed up on the computer that is hooked up to the printer. Type it in then BAM!!

Any Questions,
